Finding Tests & Measures in PsycINFO

  • Type your search term(s) in the search box and select TM Tests & Measures from the pull-down menu.  Sometimes the full-text article may include the test or measure. Selecting the TM Tests & Measures field will find studies that used a specific measure.
  • To broaden your search, you can enter your terms in the first box, not making a selection from the pull-down menu. Using OR will broaden your search. Type test* or measure* or questionnaire* or scale* or survey* in the second box, and from the pull-down menu on the right, select Abstract.. (The * is a truncation symbol, which will find different forms of words, such as measures or measure.) 

  • If a search result has [appended] after an instrument in the Tests & Measures field, that means that some or all of the instrument is included. Use appended in the search or check the Tests & Measures field in the results.

 

Finding Tests and Measures in CINAHL Complete

  • Type your search term(s) in the search box and select IN Instrumentation from the pull-down menu.  In the next search box, type questionnaire/scale and select PT Publication Type from the pull-down menu. Click the Search button. Sometimes the full-text article may include the test or measure.
  • Selecting the IN Instrumentation field will find studies that used a specific measure. Enter the name of a measure or a keyword in the first search box, and select IN Instrumentation from the pull-down menu.
  • To broaden your search, you can enter your terms in the first box, not making a selection from the pull-down menu. Using OR will broaden your search. Type test* or measure* or questionnaire* or scale* or survey* in the second box, and from the pull-down menu on the right, select Abstract.. (The * is a truncation symbol, which will find different forms of words, such as measures or measure.)
