JSU Digital Commons | Guide for Graduate Students: Overview

***IMPORTANT***

BEFORE YOU CAN SUBMIT

This online guide will walk you through the steps necessary to submit your thesis, dissertation, or graduate project to JSU Digital Commons. If you are a former student, you are welcome to submit without any further authorization. If you are a current JSU graduate student, you MUST HAVE PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE OFFICE OF GRADUATE STUDIES before you are eligible to submit your work. The Office of Graduate Studies will provide you with all relevant information and forms as part of your graduation checklist.

The Basics

Digital submission of your thesis, dissertation, or graduate project

As a graduation requirement, you must submit the approved, final version of your thesis/dissertation/project to the Library's institutional repository for archiving. This is the version that your chair/advisor/committee has signed off on and the Office of Graduate Studies has approved. This digital version of your thesis/dissertation/project will be:

  • The official version of record
  • Made publicly-accessible in digital format through JSU Digital Commons
  • Permanently retained by the Library

Before you start...

The tabs above will walk you through the simple online submission process. Before you start, you'll want to have ready:

  • Your full name as you wish it to appear in searches
  • Your JSU email address
  • Some basic information about your thesis/dissertation/project (eg, abstract, keywords)
  • The final, approved digital file of your thesis/dissertation/project (in Microsoft Word or PDF format)

If you need help...

If at any time you experience difficulties or have questions, feel free to contact the Library's Digital Assets and Special Collections Librarian using the contact box at right or our Contact Form.
