Standing Committees

Listed below are the members of Library's standing committees. If you have any questions about appointments, please contact John-Bauer Graham or Jodi Poe.

  • Accreditation/Program Review Committee
    This committee assists with the preparation of documentation for the Library during program review and for visits by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The members of this committee make recommendations as to areas that need to be addressed and updated.
  • Automation Committee
    This committee discusses and suggests improvements for the library systems, upgrades to and maintenance of the networks and computer equipment, and enhancements to the resources and services of the Library.
  • Collection Management and Development Group  
      
    This committee reviews the Collection Management and Development Policy and updates it as needed; the CMDG serves as a review board for the yearly collection assessments and new program proposals.
  • Disaster Preparedness Committee  
      
    This committee updates the Library’s Disaster Preparedness Plan as needed.
  • Instruction Committee
    This committee reviews the coordination and promotion of the Library’s instructional activities and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Newsletter Committee
    This committee is responsible for the publication of the newsletter, ColeTrain, as well as providing Library news items to the JSU Public Relations team for inclusion on the JSU press releases via the News Wire, the Facebook profile, etc.
  • Policy Committee
    This committee reviews and updates the current policies as needed, as well as develops new policy when requested.
  • Service Quality Group
    This committee develops a thorough understanding of faculty, staff, and student needs and expectations pertaining to library services, collections, and resources and determine if any of these areas need to be addressed to meet new trends, needs, or expectations.
  • Space Utliziation Committee
    This committee analyzes the Library facilities and make suggestions for improvements to address the JSU community needs and expectations.
  • Table Use Task Force
    This ad-hoc committee will investigate the Nook Tablets to determine how the Library can use these devices to enhance the services that are currently offered.
