Houston Cole Children's Corner: JSU College for Kids

We're Back!

2022 4th Annual JSU College for Kids!

Experience college this summer!

The Houston Cole Library will host our annual JSU College for Kids summer program at the Houston Cole Library during June and July, 2023. JSU Professors will be giving 22  little lectures in the Children's Corner on a wide assortment of topics. Lectures are best suited for children 5-10. The program will close with a graduation ceremony (with Cocky!) for those children who attend eight classes or more. The Dean of the Library will present the diplomas.  Please see the calendar below for dates!

New this year is Sir Cluckerton's Club for Baby Gamecocks!

Designed just for pre-k ages 3 – 4 years old, Clucky’s Kid’s Club will provide story time fun and more for all Baby Gamecocks! The program will feature 8 story time events throughout the summer, complete with coloring, snacks, and early literacy fun. The reading program will be taught by Laura Pitts, Assistant Professor/General Works and Literature Librarian, and Amy Smith, student assistant at the HCL. The program is named after the Houston Cole Library’s mascot, Sir Beaksford Cluckerton. The days this club meets are noted in the events calendar below as well.

*Some events may need to be rescheduled. The calendar below will be updated as needed. Please check our Facebook page for updates.*
