Welcome

Welcome to the Houston Cole Library! Use this online directory to learn about the Houston Cole Library building, and what you can expect to find on each floor. This floor-by-floor guide will get you started with where to go in the building for research resources by subject, as well as services and in-depth assistance from librarians. We’re here to help! If you would like to visit the Library, please let us know!!! We hope to see you in the building and in the stacks.

The HCL started out as a white marble structure. In 2001, the Library received a face lift of red granite. we have been the tallest academic building in the state of Alabama since relocating to the current building in 1972. If you are doing the math, that makes the Houston Cole Library 50 years old this year!

Happy Birthday HCL!!!!
