Library Offers New Service to Support Faculty Scholarship

Did COVID cancel the conference that accepted your paper or poster session? Wondering how to get your scholarship out there now? The Library can help with that, and much more.

The Library is rolling out a new service to assist faculty with showcasing their research and achieving scholarship, tenure, and promotion goals: JSU Digital Commons.

JSU Digital Commons is an online repository that offers JSU faculty:

  • A home for published and unpublished scholarship in all formats (and assistance with determining appropriate permissions for previously-published scholarship)
  • Metrics that can be used to demonstrate global impact as well as statistics for faculty portfolios
  • Permanent, open links that allow content to be easily shared (also beneficial for meeting the data-sharing requirements of many grants) • A home for open educational resources
  • Hosting, management and publication for open-access journals, including workflows for peer-review and online submission/acceptance
  • An online presence and archive for conferences, symposia, and other events, including workflows for abstract submission and peer review

Submission of your content is quick and easy. Scholarly Communication Liaison Allison Boswell is ready to assist with determining permissions, answering questions, and presenting, virtually or in-person, on the variety of benefits Digital Commons offers for JSU’s faculty.

Reach out to Allison today at amboswell@jsu.edu or 256.782.8137.
